Folklore

Folklore is hard to define because of the vast amount of forms it can take and meanings it can bring. Folklore is often in relation to folk gorups or those who particpate in the creation, replication or transmisson of the folklore itself. Folklore does not have to simply be a thing of the past as history can play a key role but keeping the form fo folklore alive and with value is whats imporant. Songs, stories, rituals or traditon are just as alive today as they were hundreds of years ago. We may just not see these things as folklore but its reflecting and shaping of culture is ever present.
